What idiot would defend Farmers Insurance?

In yet another episode of "What idiot would do that" Abbott has been criticized for being too cozy with Farmers Insurance. From Texas Watch:
A Texas district court judge refused to allow a sweetheart deal between Farmers Insurance and the State of Texas to move forward today. At a hearing in Judge Scott Jenkins’ court, lawyers for Farmer Insurance and Attorney General Greg Abbott’s office argued in favor of a deal that allows the insurance giant to avoid paying interest on millions of dollars in excessive premiums.

This has been a decade long battle with Farmers stemming from over charging of their customers after the historic insurance reform of 2003. The reforms allowed insurance companies to raise rates without prior justification from the Texas Dept of Insurance (TDI). In this settlement Farmers would not have to pay interest to their customers.

If any citizen of Texas would cheat Farmers they would be facing jail time, fines, and would probably have to pay attorney fees. Greg Abbott would be there to make sure interest would be paid.

He is Farmers duh ta duh duh ta duh duh ta duh duh.
