in fracking's Joe Camel

Stooping to a brand new low, a Fracking Joe Camel calls me a “kid killer.” Here is a screen shot of his tweet:

This seems to be in response to my post about the Vietnam veteran.

Seems the writer is a kid and still drinking the fracker’s Kool Aid about sending kids to war and freedom from OPEC. Poor uninformed soul.

Not a kid. It’s NIck Grealy from the UK http://nohotair.co.uk/. He used to comment here often but doesn’t any more.

His website No Hot Air you will notice does not mention bullshit.

Grealy is addicted to the fracking kool-aid. “energy independence” is yet another fracker talking point. Fracking for gas has nothing to do with “energy independence” and everything for profit.

You’re welcome….and to paraphrase the late George Carlin (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/g/georgecarl379399.html)

Fracking for “energy independence” is like screwing for viginity….

Poor Nick, he is confusing Sharon with George Bush & Dick Cheney.

Nick.

Please forget anything I ever said about you not being a moron.

You are a moron.

I know how easily you get confused; but here in America, we just re-elected the commander-in-chief of our military forces. We call this person our President. This person is not Sharon Wilson.

God save the queen.

But I wanted to be the queen!

Andy Mechling November 12, 2012 at 5:19 pm

How could I know?
Besides, I thought you were still in command of the Insurgency.

Khepry Quixote November 13, 2012 at 8:44 pm

Andy, wouldn’t that make her the Insurgent Queen? We need Sharon’s head transposed onto a picture of Joan of Arc leading her armies with a flaming sword!

Off with their heads, I say!

I guess I was thinking a little more along the lines of

“Khepry the Impaler”

but; I guess we can try it your way. It could work.

And so we get into a wonderful “discussion” on Twitter and we get blocked from replying to the Shale Gas Expert’s tweets. It’s a sad day in gasland. We never called names. We just provided some information for the UK Shale Gas Expert. C’est la vie.

Published Date Written by Nick Grealy ..”I’m continually asked by antis would I let my children drink water from near a shale well or the fluids themselves. I usually reply it is the wrong question. The more correct one would be, given disposable contact lens contain 2.5% polyacrylamide yet Cuadrilla use (only) it at a concentration of 0.25% in fracking, “Would I put fracking fluid in my wife’s eye?”
Here’s a new question coming up. Would I wipe my baby’s bottom with fracking fluid?”
I read the whole article and Mr. Grealy never answered the questions.
WELL WOULD YOU MR. GREALY?

That guy is some shill from England or something ? He posted on my NYT / Revkin interview and it was some weird, booze addled stuff. From a Brit . . .

He can’t take the heat. We all got blocked from his Twitter account today. That’s the way they roll. Call me a “kid killer” then block me when I point out that he is over the top.

I’m convinced. Where do I sign up to get a rig in my backyard. It’s the American thing to do.

Tim Ruggiero November 12, 2012 at 5:02 pm

Nick is sub species of Gashole. The gigantic kind. All too happy to drill in my backyard, but entirely too much of a coward to even think about drilling in his. But, like his American cousins, has quickly learned to divert attention from the real issue.

Having lived and worked for 25 years in Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana, I’ll make a deal with all of those advocating fracking. The deal is as follows:

1) You locate your domicile, as many citizens have in SE Texas and SW Louisiana, downwind of the predominate wind direction of a petrochemical refinery.

2) You raise your children in aforementioned domicile, as many in SE Texas/SW Louisiana do.

3) You drink your water from the faucet, whatever its flavor, texture, or odor, as many in SE Texas/SW Louisiana do.

4) You send your children to be schooled next to the petrochemical plants, as many in SE Texas/SW Louisiana do.

5) You vacation at “tarball beach”, as many in SE Texas/SW Louisiana do.

6) You eat the local fish, crabs, and crayfish, as many in SE Texas/SW Louisiana do.

7) You allow total, unfettered drilling off every shore, and I mean every shore, in the Continental U.S. and not just the shores of the Gulf of Mexico. That means off Florida, California, Oregon, Washington, Maine, New York, and even Martha’s Vineyard.

8) That you rotate through various contract jobs at various petrochemical plants so that you cannot litigate at a later date against a specific petrochemical plant over an acquired cancer. Yes, rotating contract jobs through various petrochemical plants is a standard, accepted practice in SE Texas and SW Louisiana. It is designed so expressly for the purpose of mitigating the ability of potential plaintiffs to sue.

When you have done all of these things for 25 years, and if you still feel the same way, I’ll grant you a license to drill wherever you’d like. I’m betting, though, that if you’re at least as intelligent as me you’ll change your mind once you’ve seen the impact on you, your spouse, and your loved ones.

One by one, I’ve seen co-workers and relatives of mine, die off from cancers specific to the plants in which they’ve worked. Each petrochemical plant has its particular pattern of cancers. It is remarkable to see the cancer maps from the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta (CDC Atlanta). You can tell where the petrochemical plants are located simply by looking the occurrence of particular cancers.

Do you really think that fracking’s impact will be any different?

No brainer here, higher fuel economy standards do wonders in reducing fuel usage.
