Chris Faulkner, CEO of Breitling Energy does not live near fracking but he thinks you should.
In a couple of his most recent podcasts on KRLD radio, Faulkner derides Denton, Texas residents for wanting to keep fracking out of their backyards. Faulkner, who does not live near fracking, makes his living fracking in other people’s backyards. His company is said to be “one of the country’s largest independent exploration and production companies.”
Come on America!
In podcast 480, Faulkner shows that he doesn’t know jack about fracking in Denton by implying a ban on fracking in the City of Denton–in neighborhoods–will keep America dependent on oil imports from Saudi Arabia.
Come on America! By working together, we can do this. We can say NO to foreign oil imports and set our kids up for a future they can rely on. BUT — it’s not going to happen if community after community, including Denton, Texas, keep thinking only of what [is] convenient in the moment, and not good for the country.
Come on Denton! Stop thinking only of your children’s health and safety. Fall on your sword and let them frack for oil in your backyard!

Nice try Faulkner. This kind of manipulation answers your own question below.
Why has fracking become such a dividing topic?
In podcast 483, Faulkner asks, “Why has fracking become such a dividing topic?” If Faulkner lived near fracking, if his children (does he have children) slept near fracking, if he didn’t make his living by fracking, he might know the answer to his question.
People want to harp on oil and gas, and some communities like Denton, Texas, want to ban it.
Faulkner should examine his own industry’s behavior to answer his question and to learn why “communities like Denton, Texas” want to ban fracking.
NO ONE in Texas was against fracking in the beginning. Not even me! I co wrote a document called Drill-Right Texas: Best Oil and Gas Development Practices for Texas. I thought–I HOPED–that fracking only needed to be done right or better and everything would be okay. It took some years of direct experience to learn that industry is not interested in doing it better, regulatory agencies are not interested in making them do it better and better is still not good enough.
Psyops, bullying, propaganda, spewing toxic chemicals everywhere, illegally dumping toxic waste, dangerous emissions released into the air, noise, lights, endless lies…

But it’s really KRLD, that after all, boasts of broadcasting from an “Oil and Gas News Center” that’s really to blame for letting this guy have his forum. They’re drifting toward old WBAP territory at times these days. The upper tax bracket equivalent is KERA and its gas industry sponsorships. The Fairness Doctrine would have allowed neither.
Denton was thrown on the sword a long time ago. Now Mr. Faulkner wants us to quit complaining about it and just die already. None of industry mouthpieces live here but they sure do like to tell Denton what is best for Denton. Shame on KRLD for prostitiuing themselves to the highest bidder. You are correct they are more and more like WBAP and I can’t even stomach listening to them for their traffic reports anymore. There is an app for that so bye bye KRLD and Faulkner misleading and out right lying rhetoric.
Most of the gashole executives live in Collin County where I live because there is no drilling here. However, I’ll be moving back to Denton when my son finishes school here and if he gets accepted at UNT. I need to be with my people anyway.
If you’re moving back to Denton you should research Sam Crowder. His story should give hope to the people of Denton.

KRLD was doing great for awhile and then they turned this corner. One day not so long ago this guy (Chris Faulkner) seemed to be having a major meltdown on KRLD during the traffic updates. I seriously thought he needed immediate hospitalization.

Faulkner was on KRLD talking about the opportunity in California Shale a few days ago…but I guess he missed the big 96% Lowering of the technically recoverable resource (TRR) estimates of Monterey Shale formation story.
Yet another unfortunate consequence of Governor Dubya/Goodhairdye’s incest with the oil/gas industry.
