On September 22nd, one day after the historic People's Climate March drew 400,000 concerned citizens to the streets of New York, a smaller but no less committed group of thousands of protesters went down to Wall Street to call out and challenge the finance industry's role in despoiling the planet. Unlike the previous day's march, Flood Wall Street was a non-permitted direct action, meaning that participants risked arrest and pepper spray for expressing their views. Indeed, reports estimate that about 100 protesters were booked for participating in Flood Wall Street – but their message came through loud and clear. Here are the best photos from the day.
