Overview
Long time resident, Otto Consolvo spent most of his waking hours attempting to preserve The Mound from property development. After many frustrating years, he and the Town Council struck a deal with a developer in 1983 to deed the 12.76 acres of The Mound in perpetuity to the Mound Foundation, a nonprofit organization representing the citizens of Flower Mound.

Details of the Mound Foundation
The Mound Foundation was incorporated in August 1983 and is governed by nine trustees. Its purpose is to keep the original character of the site, promote and encourage educational, scientific, and historical interests, and to maintain and secure The Mound. Funds to accomplish this come from donations and from the Town's Community Support Program.

Location
The Flower Mound is located on Farm to Market road (FM) 3040 at the northeast corner of the FM 3040 and FM 2499 intersection, next to Tom Thumb.
