2014 City of Denton Bond Program

On Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014, Denton citizens will have the opportunity to approve $98,175,000 in bonds to finance a six-year construction program. The categories and dollar amounts listed here are what voters will be asked to consider. The proposed projects represent the program the City Council intends to undertake to accomplish the intent of the approved propositions. However, the City Council shall have the right to abandon or modify a project or its amount or source of funding if, in the City Council’s opinion, conditions materially change such that the project, as originally proposed, is unwise or unnecessary or funding is otherwise available.

The bond program process included a year of intense planning and study, and guidance from a 51-member Citizen Bond Advisory Committee, City Council, City staff, and Denton citizens. More than 160 citizen comments were collected through a variety of methods including public meetings, emails, phone calls, and web surveys. The City of Denton thanks you for your participation and asks that you please study the facts carefully and vote on the propositions on Nov. 4, 2014.
