Texans’ No. 1 Halloween candy is impossible: Atomic Fireballs?

Posted on October 29, 2014 by Sarah Blaskovich

In a map that should be called The United States of Candy, a company named SumoCoupon analyzed Google Trends to determine the most searched candy in each state.

The results will make you lose your appetite. The top trending candy in New Mexico is pencils. Oklahomans are apparently crazy for Runts. (Do you think they pick out the banana candies, too?) Folks in Maryland love raisins.

We knew that Texans were wacky, but this takes us off the deep end: We apparently love Atomic Fireballs. Or, at the very least, we’ve searched for them via Google more than any other candy.

So where are the Halloween staples — the Snickers, the Skittles, the Milky Ways? Nowhere to be found. Candy corn and Kit Kat, though: Those are still cool.

This is a weird, weird world we live in.
