A news station just called me because they are trying to find out the operator on a well that’s been blowing out for several hours in the Eagle Ford Shale in Westhoff, TX. It’s about a mile south of 87 on FM 2816. From the RRC GIS map, it looks like a Petrohawk well.

Oops.
Funny that some states require by Law that operators of wells post emergency contact info on a sign nearby the operation. The cost of clean up & repair of one needlessly extended well blowout could pay for hundreds of info signs.
Cheapskates.
