Fred Moore Day Nursery School has the capacity to serve up to 180 children aged six weeks to five years old. The program includes: full services childcare for infants through Pre-K children. FMDNS care hours are from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. To provide affordable childcare, FMDNS’s fees are charged on a sliding scale based on annual family income and household size using federal government guidelines regarding low income families.

The school has enjoyed a long-standing relationship as a Partner Agency of the United Way of Denton County. We execute a contract on an annual basis and meet all accountability requirements. This includes record maintenance, financial reporting, site inspections, and annual allocation processing.
City of Denton, Department of Human Services

We been awarded budget support by the City of Denton for a number of years. FMDNS applies annually for funding through the Human Services Advisory Committee that makes recommendations to the City Council for final approval. The application process is rigorous and requires a review by city staff and a panel of citizens before final consideration by the City Council. The city funding comes from both federal funds and local tax dollars.
