An 18-year-old Dallas resident was arraigned at the Denton County Jail recently on Lewisville police warrants.

Tyrone Ebron was one in a group of people police are now calling “a gang” involved in a shooting in the 200 block of East Round Grove Road on Wednesday afternoon.

Lewisville police Capt. Dan Rochelle said two groups of men got into a disagreement and a man on one side pulled a gun and a man on the other side pulled a gun in front of an apartment complex.

“They exchanged shots and one [with a gun] was injured,” he said.

The injured man went on his own to Medical Center Lewisville before he was taken to Medical Center of Plano, police said.

Rochelle said the man was treated for a gunshot wound to his buttocks and arrested on warrants upon release at 5:30 p.m. Thursday. The warrants, he said, were for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and deadly conduct discharge of a firearm.

So far, police said they estimate at least 15 shots were fired from two handguns.

The caliber and make/model of the guns used has not been released at this time.

Rochelle said the two sides have been uncooperative in the “very active and ongoing investigation,” but he does expect more arrests in the coming days.

Ebron is currently in the Denton County Jail in lieu of $35,000 bond.

The motive of the shooting also remains under investigation, Rochelle said.
