Statement by Texas Railroad Commissioner David Porter on New EPA Rule

06/03/2014

AUSTIN – The following statement can be attributed to Texas Railroad Commissioner David Porter on the new EPA rule for the regulation of CO2:

“President Obama has finally kept one of his promises. During his 2008 presidential campaign, Obama said electricity prices would ‘necessarily skyrocket,’ and his latest policy direction to the EPA will make good on that promise,” Porter said. “These new carbon emission regulations are yet another example of his administration's war on fossil fuels and will undoubtedly cause Texas electricity rates to ‘skyrocket.’”
