Rooftop solar PV is the only option Delhi has for renewable energy generation. The government and the utilities completely messed up in promoting the feed-in tariff program for homeowners. A feed-in tariff program would have gone very well with the renewable energy target achievement as well as relief for consumers who are plagued with the fear of ever increasing electricity rates.

Introduction
Mridul Chadha is Head – News & Data at Climate Connect Limited. His main focus areas are the Renewable Energy Certificates scheme and solar energy in India. 

Mridul is a master's student at The Energy and Resources Institue (TERI University) pursuing a degree in Renewable Energy Engineering and Management. He received his bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering in 2005 from the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. 

Mridul has worked as an intern for two months at one of India's largest solar panels manufacturing companies, Moser Baer Photovoltaics. He worked on optimization of throughput of the Thin Film Solar Panel assembly line. 

Mridul is a Contributing Author at Cleantechnica (part of 'One Block Off the Grid'), Ecopolitology and Earth and Industry (part of Liveoak Media) covering renewable energy policies and technologies.
