We asked readers to share what they'd do if the Kansas City Royals clinched a World Series victory, and hundreds responded (some even before it started). And with the Royals headed to Game 7 on Wednesday night with home turf advantage, we're curious to see how many readers live up to their word. Then again, maybe we don't want to see it.
We noticed several common themes, which included promises of:
- Getting a tattoo
- Buying season tickets
- Attending more Royals games
- Giving more credit to Royals Manager Ned Yost
- Getting naked
- Celebrating like it's 1985
- Crying
Some of the responses were a little more unique. Here are some of our favorites:
- Move back to KC!
- Buy a salamander and name it 'Sal' in honor of Salvador Perez
- Eat barbecue every day for a year
- Take back all those things I said about Ned Yost
- I'll personally get Eric Hosmer's bar tab up to $50,000
- Eat two cheeseburgers sitting on my roof – wearing nothing but a Royals hat
- Get a tattoo of Ned Yost's portrait on my buttocks
- Go skydiving
- Do 30 acts of kindness, since it's been almost 30 years since the Royals have won a World Series
- Look for pigs flying
- Buy a 2015 ticket package for the first time in 25 years
- Call in sick, ask my girlfriend to marry me and get a new dog
- Get up early to thaw out my car, since something most certainly froze over
- Let my wife know the minister at our wedding wasn't really ordained
- Name my first born, 'Ned'
