Ebola-Free Nurse Amber Vinson Stays Near Quarantined Family

DALLAS (CSBDFW.COM) - A Dallas nurse who survived Ebola is back at the very place her journey started.

“I’m so grateful to be well.  And first and foremost, I want to thank God,” said Vinson.

Amber Vinson arrived in North Texas Tuesday afternoon, and while she’s free of Ebola and free to come and go she pleases… members of her family aren’t. They are still in quarantine, which is why she’s back at the hospital.

Vinson said she wants to stay close to her mother and fiancée while they’re in isolation.

“She is concerned about her mom and her fiancé. I saw her blotting tears out of her mother’s eyes and she’s just a wonderful Hometown health care hero,” one health care worker said.

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins met with her shortly after the nurse arrived at Texas Health Presbyterian.

“They are all glad to have her home,” said Jenkins.
