Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Ltd.'s Lake Mary headquarters is set to get bigger in the next five years.

Gov. Rick Scott on Oct. 29 announced the firm forecasts adding 100 new jobs at its North American headquarters, as well as moving into new offices at 400 Colonial Center Parkway in Lake Mary, known as the 400 TownPark building. The new office will accommodate the firm's new shared administrative services, said a news release.

The new jobs being added include positions in management, engineering, sales and marketing, and administrative functions to support operations, subsidiaries and customers in North America, said Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems President and CEO David Walsh, in a prepared statement.

"This new world-class headquarters facility is essential to meeting our growth initiatives," Walsh said in the statement. "This is a significant commitment that confirms our intent to make Florida the newly formed [Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems] headquarters home, providing good jobs in Florida.

"Our business is high-tech, and requires a highly skilled workforce with advanced education, experience and technical aptitude. The quality of life in the Orlando area, the pro-business Florida environment, the highly developed Orlando transportation hub, and the high quality of the regional talent base are key reasons why we are affirming our commitment to locate here, and call Florida home."

The firm earlier today already had 12 jobs posted for its Lake Mary office, as previously reported by Orlando Business Journal.
