Survivor senators: Arizona's Jeff Flake stars in survival reality show

U.S. Sens. Jeff Flake of Arizona and Martin Heinrich of New Mexico traveled across the world to be part of a reality survival television show on a deserted Pacific island.

Flake, a Republican, and Heinrich, a Democrat, are featured on a Discovery Channel televisions show "Rival Survival."

Flake and Heinrich spent six days together in the Marshall Islands trying to survive the week.

The Discovery show airs tonight and features the two U.S. senators working together to spear fish, find drinking water and build a shelter. The area where the federal lawmakers were left to survive included shark-infested waters, coral reefs and venomous fish.
