Crumbs will be back in Boston's Financial District Friday morning.
Just in time trick-or-treaters, the one-time purveyor of only cupcakes that closed abruptly in July will reopen with a substantially expanded menu under new ownership that includes CNBC star Marcus Lemonis and Fischer Enterprises.
Jeff Mullen, a Crumbs district manager who was setting up the busy retail space that faces Dewey Square and South Station this morning, said the location will sell cupcakes — Dippin' Dots, no doubt, since Fischer owns the brand — but also new offerings.
Among them: the "baissant," which is a combination of a bagel and a croissant; "Wicked Good cupakes," a local company in which Lemonis invested; and the "crozel," which is billed as a combination of a croissant and a pretzel.
One of the more unusual menu items will be cupcake pushpops, which present the cake in a cylinder and plunger. "They're very handy," Mullen said. Of course there will be coffee.
Eventually, other items will appear on the menu, Mullen said.
The Financial District Crumbs will be open from Monday-through-Friday from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.
