Hear “Royals” Collide Awesomely with 2Pac and Beck

Like most of today’s Billboard hits, Lorde’s “Royals” has inspired a wide range of renditions from the fairly standard to the slightly bizarre. One of the better adaptations of the current number one hit is this eclectic mashup with Beck’s “Loser” and 2Pac and Dr. Dre’s “California Love” by YouTube stars Pomplamoose (real-life couple Nataly Dawn and Jack Conte).

The talented musicians didn’t directly sample any of the original songs, instead creating and mixing their own versions of the instrumentation and vocal tracks. And the accompanying video is as fun as the music, filmed in one take with a single projector and a few props.
