Perry Announces Second Ebola Treatment Facility
Gov. Rick Perry announced Tuesday that three health care providers in North Texas will partner to form an Ebola treatment facility, as recommended by the state’s infectious disease task force.
The UT Southwestern Medical Center will provide infectious disease physicians, the Methodist Hospital System will designate room at its campus in Richardson and the Parkland Hospital System will provide medical equipment in a team effort to contain the deadly Ebola virus, Perry said.
“In the event of another diagnosis this facility will allow us to act quickly to limit the virus’ reach and give patients the care they need ...

The keyword is diagnosis and every facility in the state will need to be able to do that better than last time.

Well at least that's a good provider who can probably do it. Not that Perry will understand anything about it.

How about letting the million or so Texans get health insurance while you are at it?
Ellis Pickett
Is it being funded through the Enterprise Fund?

That seems unnecessarily complicated. Doctors from one place, facilities from another hospital (presumably the nursing staff, etc from here too?), equipment from yet a third hospital. Don't you the folks to be completely familiar with the staff, physicians, equipment and facilities in general when dealing with a lethal bug? This gets you unfamiliarity in all relationships, equipment and facilities. Dumb!

Is there a flu treatment facility? 1 out of 26,841,349 people have died from Ebola in Texas.

What a joke. Gov. Ricky Bobby announces the Ebola outbreak two weeks ago, then he couldn’t high-tail it out of Texas fast enough for a 2-week taxpayer funded vacation in Europe, keeping out of sight from the public all that time during this state emergency.
He abandoned his duties as the leader of this state, leaving others to deal with the mess.
Now that he’s back after the last ebola patient was safety transported out of the state, he announces finally doing something after the press has moved on by setting up two ebola-care facilities in haste. Too little too lame.
The second unit at Methodist is so poorly planned out that UTSW and Parkland won’t even house the unit on their own campuses. It’s like they’re all avoiding any bone fide Ebola patient like the plague.
The strange move to house the facility at Methodist suggests the people at UTSW and Parkland have no confidence in their own abilities in taking care of even one patient. Pathetic.
It’s clear that since Gov. Rick Perry has finally poked his head out in this crisis and seen his own shadow, there will six more weeks of Ebola in Texas.

Timely, one patient died, and the other two were flown to other states.

I don't think too many people are paying Perry much attention at this point in time.

We already have one. It's the airport gate with the flight that leaves for Atlanta. (FOUR people have had Ebola in the US, people. FOUR. Someone in the US died of heart disease in the 33 seconds it took you to read this.)

But the guidelines and implementation will be taken from the federal regulations. Bet the Governor won't admit that.

These nutty politicians in the state of Texas didn't just fall from a tree. They were elected by the citizens of your state. What does that say about the people that vote there? The rest of the educated public knows all to well the hypocrisy and stupidity of your elected officials, so why does it continue?
Perry, Cruz, Sessions and countless others are what we refer to as the Texas Taliban. And while you/they thump your chest about being Texan we all laugh our selves silly.
Keep up the good work and go Wendy!
Funny that Perry was in Europe of all places spreading his ignorance on an international level. Yee Haw!
Now he's embarrassed the entire country. Thanks Texas!
