Things to Do on Halloween 2014

Nothing says Halloween quite like a couple of confused, sexy adult angels.

Halloween is on a Friday this year. This means your excuses are all worthless and you will have to participate in the festivities. But house parties are so 1998. Get out of the house and do something. Want to go to a haunted house? We've got you covered. Want to do something else? Something a little more under-the-radar, or down the back alley, if you will. Bound, a Haunting Display of Aerial Circus
This adults-only show puts a new twist on the aerial silks. Here, the danger is more real, as the performers struggle to break free from the chains, locks or bind they find themselves trapped in. Step back in time to 1895 and let your modern jaw drop in amazement at the feats of these performers. The show is at 8 p.m. Friday. Tickets start at $25 at eisemanncenter.com.

Meddlesome Moth Halloween Spectacle at Red Arrow Contemporary
What goes better with Halloween than a nice, cold beer? The adult treats will be served starting at 7 p.m., and art from some of the men behind the beers will be on display. Tickets are $20 and available at eventbrite.com.

Creature from the Black Lagoon Screening
This classic flick about a prehistoric beast in the Amazonian jungle gets its time on the big screen every year around Halloween. See it at Plaza Theatre in Garland at 7 p.m. Friday. Dress up for a costume contest, grab some popcorn and enjoy some old fashioned scares. Admission is free, more info at garlandarts.com.

Night of the Living Dead at Dallas Children's Theater
The kids are hungry in this take on George Romero's classic zombie film. What could be more fitting for Halloween than to see kids smear on fake blood and pretend to be zombies? Oh, you thought Halloween was for adults? Wrong. See it at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Tickets are $12-14. More information at dct.org.

Cirque du Horror
It's like a gypsy show or late night campfire stories, but scarier. There will be stories, music, and costume. Cirque du Horror will stop at the Texas Theatre (231 W. Jefferson Blvd., Dallas) at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31st. Tickets are available at TheTexasTheatre.com.

Phantom of the Opera at Pocket Sandwich Theatre
The campiest theater in town, Pocket Sandwich Theatre, presents a spoofy take on the story of the masked man who haunts the opera house. It'll feel just like the Halloweens of your childhood, but instead of the local bully throwing eggs at you, you'll be throwing popcorn at the actors. Tickets $10-20, available at pocketsandwich.com.

Necromance: Zombie Lingerie Party
Earlier we told you about little kids dressed as zombies. This is the opposite of that. Or the adult version. Or the after party. Whichever you want it to be. Nothing says I'm a grown up on Halloween quite like drinking to oblivion and stumbling into a Whataburger as a sexy zombie nurse. At this party on Elm Street, it's $10 for entry, $20 for VIP, which includes zombie punch. You know this is a good one, cause there's no Web site. Just a Facebook event.
