CoServ names new administrators

CoServ Electric now has two new leaders, including a new chief executive officer.

Donnie Clary is now the president and CEO, after spending 24 years with the company in various roles, including chief financial officer.

The company also a new administrator of the CoServ Charitable Foundation, Mary Worthington. She most recently worked as the development director for the Lewisville ISD Education Foundation.

Coserv is an electric company based in Corinth, and serves portions of North Texas.

 

Classic of Denton opens Ram facility

A new commercial and fleet vehicle facility featuring only Ram vehicles has opened at Classic of Denton.

Since the company opened its used car lot, it can now accommodate an expanded area for the Ram vehicles, according to a news release. The facility currently has more than 100 Ram trucks and fleet vehicles.

 

Oktoberfest on Walnut looking for vendors

A block of Walnut Street will be closed to traffic on Friday, Oct. 3, for Oktoberfest on Walnut.

The festival is being coordinated by former Sweetwater Grill & Tavern owners Jimmy and Karen Meredith, with help from new Sweetwater owners Ryann and Rick Reid.

Organizers are still looking for merchandise vendors who sell specialty items like jewelry and souvenirs. To request a booth for the event, call Ryann Reid at 940-465-1237 or email walnutoffthesquare@gmail.com.

The festival will be from 5 p.m. to midnight on Walnut Street just south of the Square, and will include food, beer vendors and live music.

 

PJ’s Party Supply now on University Drive

Albertson’s on West University Drive got a new neighbor this summer — PJ’s Party Supply and Rentals.

The new store is now open and starting to prepare for Halloween. June Schiada, president of the company, said they are hoping to hold a grand reopening event in October.

Now at 2317 W. University Drive, Suite 173, PJ’s Party Supply is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.

 

Denton native heads Austin Komen affiliate

Jennifer Horn Stevens, a Denton native now based in Austin, was appointed the president of the Susan G. Komen Foundation Austin earlier this year. Stevens will lead the foundation’s Austin affiliate for a two-year term.

Additionally, Stevens’ business, JHL Co., turned 10 in May. The company focuses on public affairs, marketing and event management.

Stevens is the daughter of Denton County Judge Mary Horn and former state Rep. Jim Horn.
