Cookies by Design changes ownership
After 24 years in business, Phyllis Pittman has sold Cookies by Design in Denton to Emilie Douglas.
This will be Pittman’s last week at the business before it officially changes ownership Sept. 1. There will be a grand re-opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for Cookies by Design on Oct. 2.
Sephora to open inside Denton’s J.C. Penney
Inside the newly renovated J.C. Penney at Golden Triangle Mall, the makeup store Sephora will open Friday.
The first 100 customers that day will receive J.C. Penney gift cards, which vary in value up to $100., according to store officials
In addition, Sephora will give away 750 gift bags with free samples.
The freestanding Sephora store within the J.C. Penney is 2,200 square feet and will feature almost 50 brands of makeup, skin care products and fragrances.
Hospital CEO named
to ‘rising stars’ list
Ashley McClellan, the chief executive officer of the Medical Center of Lewisville, was named to Becker’s Hospital Review’s list of 25 Healthcare Leaders Under 40.
Becker’s list was compiled based on peer nominations, then continued research.
The list includes hospital leaders across the country, from New Jersey to California to Florida.
Insurance dividends bring in $200 million
Texas Mutual Insurance Co. is distributing about $2 million in dividends to companies across Denton County.
The dividends will benefit 500 business owners in the area that are members of the policyholder-owned company.
Across the state, the dividends total to roughly $200 million.
