This band got a lot of flak from MTV back in the day…obviously because they were jealous of hot guys who could sing, dance and play awesome music. I love Winger…and you can see Kip, Reb and the rest of the guys Thursday night at Trees.

This guy was in an 80’s rock band as well. Then he decided to do the Texas Red Dirt thing. So if you want to see a Texas Red Dirt concert done like an 80’s rock show…check out former Dangerous Toys member Kevin Fowler at Billy Bob’s Friday nigh June 6th.

Who says you have to wait until the weekend to get your party on? Check out Rockin’ on the River Thursday night June 5th at Panther Island Pavilion with Thieving Birds.

The River Legacy Clay Shooting Tournament is happening this Saturday June 7th at Beaumont Ranch in Grandview. This sounds like a really fun time. You get lunch, 100 rounds of sporting clays, shells, cocktails, and plenty of door prizes.

The Dallas Zoo Safari Nights is happening this Saturday night June 7th. If you dig Celtic rock, you need to be there this weekend to see The Kildares.

The Dallas Symphony Orchestra will be playing the Hollywood Hits Saturday evening June 7th at the Meyerson in Dallas. You’ll hear everything from old western themes to Raiders of the Lost Ark and JAWS.

The Arts District Architecture Walking Tour is set for this Saturday at the Dallas Center for Architecture. This 90-minute outdoor walking tours include buildings erected as far back as the late 1880s, just 40 years after Dallas’ founding.

The Firestone 600 IZOD Indy Car Series is set for this coming Saturday afternoon June 7th at Texas Motor Speedway. Get ready to see Dallas born…and newly crowned Indianapolis 500 champion Ryan Hunter-Reay …he’ll be there.

You know you are tired of being cooped up inside each and every day. This Saturday morning June 7th, ditch the work clothes and head over to the Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge for a Canoe Tour. You’ll see ducks, herons, beaver and other critters. All better than the animals you work with day in and day out. I promise.

Saturday June 7th at Dallas Heritage Village at Old City Park…you can witness Gun Fights at the Village which is basically early Dallas law and order, settler style, on the Village’s Main Street. The Trinity River Desperados will give you a firsthand view of the “Wild West” when a mild disagreement turns into a gun fight on Main Street.

If you a burger type of guy or gal…the Joe’s Run ‘Cheezeburgerz ‘N Parrot-Dise’ Benefiting Samaritan House sounds like something more your speed. This Saturday morning (June 7) at Panther Island Pavilion in Fort Worth, you can take part in 5K and 10K runs and hang out at a ‘Cheezeburgerz ‘N Parrot-dise’ island theme party where you can kick back, chow down on a burger, enjoy the sounds of a Jimmy Buffet tribute band, and celebrate the start of summer.

Sundance Square has been revamped so take advantage of all the newness with Jazz Sundays. The Sunday Music Jazz Series happens at 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

It is time for the 20th Annual Dog Day Afternoon with Operation Kindness. Saturday June 7th from 9:00 am to 1:00pm…hang out with the folks from the largest no kill shelter in north Texas at White Rock Park/Flag Pole Hill in Dallas. This is a free festival that celebrates dogs with unique vendors, free goodie bags, K9 contests for trophies and prizes, an alumni parade, food truck vendors, face painting, an “Ask the Trainer” tent, a pooch kissing booth, adorable adoptable animals, and lots of free parking!

These guys are one of my favorite bands ever. My favorite song from this band came out the summer following my freshman year of high school. Check out 38 Special as they get all Caught Up In You Saturday June 7th at Lone Star Park as part of the Lone Star Music Series.

You can also check out the Belmont Stakes at Lone Star Park Saturday afternoon. Watch, wager and win on the 146th running of the Belmont Stakes, the final leg of the Triple Crown, simulcast live from Belmont Park.

The Red Bull Cliff Diving event at Possum Kingdom Lake is set for this Saturday June 7th at 2:30. 14 athletes will dive from really, really, really high cliffs.

And saving the best for last…the last big show of George Strait’s last big tour is this Saturday June 7th at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. The Cowboy Rides Away Tour 2014 will include a who’s who of country music with Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Sheryl Crow, Ronnie Dunn, Vince Gill, Faith Hill, Alan Jackson, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride and Lee Ann Womack. The opening act for Strait’s final concert will be six-time Grammy Award-winning group, Asleep at the Wheel.
