San Jose Permit Process Continues To Weed Out Medicinal Marijuana Dispensaries
SAN JOSE (KCBS) — A San Jose city report released on Monday reveals that 14 medical marijuana dispensaries have successfully completed the first phase of gaining a license to operate in the city.
Recent regulations enacted by the city have set down requirements for clubs of operate, including a zoning permit and separate permit to dispense medicinal marijuana.

The 14 clubs that have cleared the zoning hurdle will now have their applications reviewed.
According city manager’s office, 36 other clubs have filed initial paperwork but their applications have yet to be reviewed.
According to the new rules, any club that continues to sell marijuana without a city license faces closure and fines that could top $100,000.
