    Owned and managed by the Natural Lands Trust, the preserve is divided into two parcels—Shades Creek (to the north) and Dry Land Hill (to the south)—and protects 3400-plus acres of mountain forests and streams. Both parcels contain an extensive trail system blazed with colored placards.
