Greg Johnson was elected to At Large Place 6 in May 2014 and is serving his first term.

Greg Johnson was not born in Denton, but he got here as fast as he could! Greg and his wife, Leah, moved to Denton in 1993 and along with their four children, who were all born here, are happy to call Denton home. Leah is a speech language pathologist and domestic goddess. Hannah is a UNT student and blossoming artist. Olivia is a high school student and beautiful ballerina. Twins Caroline and Luke are in elementary school where Caroline is focused on taking over as principal and Luke is focused on making everyone laugh!

Greg is a partner in the Denton real estate company VERUS Real Estate Advisors, located downtown at the corner of Carroll and Hickory where they love repurposing old buildings in our downtown bringing additional space to live, work and play for citizens of Denton and recruiting new ones. VERUS is a full-service commercial real estate brokerage company that Greg founded and chose to locate in Denton because of the unique atmosphere of our downtown. They continue to grow and his team spends much of its time promoting Denton to national companies in an effort to get them to locate in our great city.

Prior to VERUS, Greg started and managed a number of successful real estate companies. As a previous corporate executive, Greg brings a unique perspective to small business and city council. He is an experienced leader, having led a team of 150+ men and women in an industry that faced many challenges. Very seldom do all parties in a large group agree when dealing with difficult issues, and Greg’s experience gives him the ability to listen and look for solutions that take all concerns into account.

As the At Large Place 6 Council Member is elected by all voters in the city, Greg wants to hear what all Denton citizens want, need and where they stand on issues facing our city.
