Southern Living magazine's latest Houston Showcase Home is this 5,000-square-foot custom French chateau-style home built by Houston-based Morning Star Builders on four acres in Willowcreek Ranch, an equestrian community developed by Houston-based Caldwell Cos. Homes in Willowcreek Ranch range in size from one to seven acres and in price from $600,000 to the millions.

Southern Living magazine has selected a new Showcase home north of Houston, and it's one you won't want to miss.

The French chateau-inspired home was built by Houston-based Morning Star Builders Ltd. and is located in Willowcreek Ranch, a new equestrian-themed community in Tomball. Developer Caldwell Cos., based in Houston, has presold 70 lots in Willowcreek Ranch, sized from 1 to 7 acres and valued from $900,000 to more than $1 million. Willowcreek Ranch will have 220 homes at completion.

The 4,800-square-foot, two-story Southern Living Showcase home features:

  • One master suite, two secondary bedrooms and one mother-in-law suite
  • Four full bathrooms – with the master one featuring dual showers, toilets and sinks – and several half bathrooms
  • A game room with pinball machines, shuffleboard and TV and a second media room upstairs
  • Living room and raised study featuring pre-engineered wood flooring and vaulted ceilings with exposed beams.
  • Veranda-style porch with outdoor grill, two-sided fireplace, two mini AC and heating units and a motorized mosquito screen that slides down from the archways. The patio is north-facing, which means it's shaded from the late afternoon sun.
  • Three-car garage, with epoxy-lined concrete to wipe away car oil, and an attached carport that can fit three more cars
  • Full kitchen with an attached caterer's kitchen featuring Thermador appliances
  • A mud room with dog shower and automatic dog door, which is controlled by a special dog collar.
  • Several fenced-in pastures and a barn with three horse stables, a tack room and workshop.
