Leon County adopted a tax rate that will raise more taxes for maintenance and operations than last year's tax rate and the tax rate will raise taxes for maintenance and operations on a $100,000 home by approximately $0.00.
On Monday, October 13, 2014 Leon County Commissioners Court signed a Proclamation proclaiming the week of October 27 – October 31, 2014 as “Healthy For Life Week”.

By state statute every odd numbered year a new local historical commission committee has to be
formed and approved by the Commissioners Court. This committee serves for a two (2) year period.
This committee has to be at least seven members made up of people through-out Leon County.
The Commissioners Court in the near future will be approving this committee to start January 1, 2015.
