Golf: UNT’s Kilponen remains in top 10

MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. — The North Texas women’s team dropped to eighth place Tuesday but Taylor Kilponen remained in the top 10 after the second round of the Sun Belt Conference tournament. The Mean Green shot a second-round 311 and has a two-round score of 619, while Kilponen is tied for 10th place after 36 holes.

Florida International will take a six-stroke lead over Middle Tennessee into the final round.

Kilponen was 5 over on the day with one birdie. She was at 6-over 150 for the tournament. McKenzie Ralston climbed into the top 25 after firing UNT’s lowest round of the day, a 3-over 75. Ralston is tied for 23rd. Chaslyn Chrismer had 4-over round and moved into a tie for 32nd thanks to three birdies.

UNT freshman Georgina Mundy slid to 45th after an 84. Brooke Bailey was tied for 53rd following an 83.
