TUCSON, Ariz. — Chaslyn Chrismer and McKenzie Ralston led the way for North Texas on the first day of the Mountain View Collegiate. Chrismer had a two-round score of 149, while Ralston had the seventh-lowest first round with a 71.
North Texas was in 10th place after 36 holes. The Mean Green shot a first-round 296 but fell back in the second round with a 309.
Chrismer was tied for 34th after rounds of 75 and 74. Ralston dropped into a tie for 48th place after a second round of 80.
UNT’s Taylor Kilponen was one stroke behind Ralston with a two-round 152. Brooke Bailey shot a 159 and was tied for 66th, while Georgina Mundy was in 71st after a 160.
Texas Tech led after two rounds with a score of 573. The Mean Green trailed Iowa by seven strokes heading into today’s final round.
