Dan Owens, co-owner of Four Dogs Pet Supplies in NoDa, says advice from the Small Business Center at CPCC was essential to the company’s success

You could say that Four Dogs Pet Supplies has become the poster child for Central Piedmont Community College's Small Business Center.

After co-owners Dan Owens and his wife, Kim, earned a MicroMasters Certificate in Entrepreneurship from CPCC in mid-2013, the couple and two other partners (Tom and Betsy Hintzmann) opened their Four Dogs store in NoDa late last October.

As a guest of the center, then-Charlotte Mayor Patsy Kinsey attended the ribbon cutting. And now Four Dogs — named for the number of dogs the owners have — is gracing the cover of CPCC's brochure touting the offerings of its ...
