About 200 images were submitted in the second week of our State Fair of Texas photo contest, and it was Rebekah Maddalena's photo of a pig that was voted our weekly winner.

Maddalena, a Lewisville resident, got to the fairgrounds earlier than intended and began wandering around the pig pens, where she stumbled upon a cart of stuffed pigs — and live pigs beside it.

“The irony of the situation made for a humorous photo,” Maddalena said.

Other images submitted were strong contenders, including runner-up Matt Hack’s photo of a fair ride. This week’s celebrity judge, Dallas Stars captain Jamie Benn, voted for Hack’s photo as his favorite.

“This is what I think of when I think about the State Fair,” Benn said. “There are all these bright colors and the kids are riding rides. They’re laughing, smiling and just having fun.”

All images on this page will be eligible for the grand-prize round, to be judged by The Dallas Morning News photo staff.

There’s still time to submit your best State Fair photos for a chance to win. Just post your images to neighborsgo.com/statefairpics, where you have an option to upload directly from your Facebook album, or via Twitter or Instagram by using the hashtag #statefairpics.
