North Central Texas Council of Governments awarded Lewisville a $1.5 million grant for a new city trail along Garden Ridge and Valley Parkway that will connect the A-Train’s Lewisville Lake Station with the municipal complex on Civic Circle Drive. The city matched with $506,000.

The project will include 4.2 miles of shared-use paths, sidewalk, ADA ramps and shared pavement markings for bicycles in the driving lanes. It will include connections to the trail systems in Highland Village and Flower Mound.

Lewisville lists the Garden Ridge trail as a priority action item in its 2025 vision plan.

Construction should begin late next year.
