Daniel D. Onstot went to be with his heavenly Father on October 25, 2014. Dan was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on November 2, 1949, to Duane and Peggy Onstot. Celebrating his life are his beloved wife, Terry B. Onstot, their three children, Kelly Flynn (Tanja McCormick), Daniel (Kristian) Onstot, and Christopher Onstot, and his dear siblings, Carla Becker (Jim), Gaila Hayes, Paula Alloway, and Jeff (Gayle) Onstot, and many nieces and nephews and four precious grandchildren.
Dan's business career included commercial real estate investment, and agricultural and equine insurance sales. Dan served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Argyle Methodist Church, where he also sang in the choir.
He was a passionate outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, camping, and horseback riding. Dan had a quick wit, entertaining friends and family with jokes and stories. He was an amazing cook who loved organizing and hosting impromptu get togethers.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday October 28, 2014, at Argyle United Methodist Church. Internment will be in Norwalk, Iowa, on November 5, 2014. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Daniel D. Onstot Memorial Fund and mailed to Northstar Bank, 3301 Teasley Lane, Denton, Texas 76210.
