Kitty Ruth Silk, age 80, of Valley View and former longtime resident of Lewisville, passed away Monday, October 27, 2014, in Denton.

She was born January 12, 1934, in Sasakwa, Oklahoma, to Clint Kyle Robertson and Susie Ann Bailey Robertson. Kitty married George W. Silk on January 19, 1950, in Coppell. She retired as a cafeteria worker with the Lewisville Independent School District after 29 years of service. Kitty was a member of the Valley View Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, George; children, Billy Silk and wife, Nancy, and Barbara Berry and husband, Scott; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and brother, John Shafer and wife, Jane.

A service to celebrate Kitty's life will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 30, 2014, at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville. Interment will follow at Flower Mound Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The family asks any memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association.
