John Carl Moellinger of Denton passed away on October 22, 2014. He was born on September 22, 1919, in Wichita, Kansas, and graduated from East High School in 1937. In high school, he was active in many organizations and a member of the football team, playing fullback, linebacker and kicker. After graduation he worked in the aircraft industry and during World War II served as Chief Inspector at Beach Aircraft. After the war he went into business for himself and later became President of Loadcraft Trailer Co., and President and Chief Executive Officer of Denton based Transport Systems, Inc. After moving to Denton in 1965, he served as President of the Chamber of Commerce and was involved in several civic minded organizations. He was active in the Democratic Party and served as Denton County campaign manager for several candidates including the Presidential campaign of Hubert Humphrey, and re-election campaign of Senator Lloyd Bensten, and U.S. Representative Ray Roberts.

A graveside service will be held on October 31, 2014, at 11:00 A.M. at Roselawn Memorial Park.

John is survived by his two sons, Terry Moellinger of Denton, and Jim Moellinger of Austin.

Services are under the direction of Denton Funeral Home in Denton, Texas.
