Funeral Services for Zeola Dorsett Tucker, 108-year-old Denton resident (formerly of Leonard), are scheduled for 2:30 P.M. Sunday October 19, 2014, at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home located at 701 N. Cedar in Leonard. Burial will be in the Leonard Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 1:30 P.M. until service time Sunday October 19th.
Zeola Dorsett Tucker was born February 20, 1906, to Rebecca McCaslin and George Dorsett at Brawley, a community east of Leonard in Fannin County. She attended school at Valley Creek and graduated from Leonard High School in 1924. She attended college at East Texas State University and taught school at the community of Savage. Zeola married Clyde Tucker in 1928. She passed away Thursday, October 16th, at Denton Rehab and Nursing Center in Denton.
Mrs. Tucker was preceded in death by her husband and 12 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Beth and Larry Manning; three grandchildren: Dianne White and husband Paul, David Manning, and Don Manning and wife, Suzanne; 11 great-grandchildren: Jody and Jacob White, Brooke and Blake Manning, Mollie, Madeline, Macy, McKenzie, Michael, Maddox, and McCade Manning; one great-great-grandchild: Payton White, one sister: Juanita Young of Frisco; several nieces and nephews.
