RE:VOIR

RE:VOIR is a video label for classic and contemporary experimental cinema. The collection currently comprises over seventy titles, including films from the Dadaist, Surrealist and Letterist movements, as well as films from the American avant-garde, film diaries, arthouse features, animated works and hand-painted films.

RE:VOIR is devoted to giving a wider audience access to a relatively unknown yet rich and diverse body of cinema, and to disseminating the major works of experimental film at the highest possible quality. Each release receives rigorous attention and extensive preparation, and yields an object of enduring integrity and quality for collection, discovery, and reflection.

The Re:Voir Video project is to make available a collection of video reproductions of experimental, avant-garde films. The name of the company suggests that these digital reproductions should be considered a way of seeing films again, after having seen them in their original format: on film. We take a special care that the reproduction be as close as possible to the work on film, mastered from internegatives or new prints and respecting color, cadence and framing.

RE:VOIR Vidéo est une société d’édition qui fait connaître le cinéma expérimental en support vidéo. La collection comprend actuellement plus de 70 titres. Elle présente aussi bien des films des mouvements dada, surréaliste, lettriste, des films conceptuels ou de l’avant-garde américaine, que des journaux filmés, des longs-métrages d’auteurs, des œuvres d’animation et de la peinture sur pellicule.

À travers les titres que nous éditons, nous souhaitons montrer par des œuvres de grande qualité combien l’expérimentation cinématographique est une recherche artistique profonde et audacieuse. La vocation de RE:VOIR Vidéo est de rendre accessible au plus grand nombre un cinéma incroyablement riche et divers bien que mal connu, et d’éditer en support vidéo les œuvres majeures de l’expérimentation cinématographique dans les meilleures conditions techniques possibles. Chaque édition est le support d’une attention particulière afin qu’il soit un objet de collection, de découverte et de réflexion.
