USF Health takes Ohio State interim dean for leadership team

The University of South Florida has named Dr. Edmund F. Funai to a top leadership position at USF Health.
Funai will be vice president and chief operating officer for USF Health, in addition to USF system vice president for strategic development, according to a statement.
He previously was the interim dean of The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the chief operating officer for the five hospitals in the OSU Health System.
Funai's resume also includes leadership positions in the medical department's at New York University and Yale University, and their affiliated hospitals.
Following approval from the faculty and the chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Funai will be recommended for tenure at the rank of full professor. He is scheduled to begin at USF in November, the statement said.
