Nashville-based HCA, one of the largest hospital companies in the U.S., said today that it plans to acquire CareNow, a privately-held company with two dozen urgent care facilities in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
HCA, which already operates 11 hospitals in North Texas, including Medical City Dallas, said CareNow will become a division inside the larger company.
In a statement, Sam Hazen, president of operations for HCA, said CareNow has a strong brand and will complement HCA’s other operations in the area.
Founded in 1993, CareNow served about 9 percent of the Dallas-Fort Worth area population in 2013, HCA said.
