Six startups will take the stage Monday, Nov. 3 to pitch their companies. Five judges will respond to those pitches. One company will win.
The second annual TechFlash Cup startup competition will begin at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the Triple Door, 216 Union St.
The judges are a veritable who's who of the Seattle startup scene. Geoff Entress from Voyager Capital, Len Jordan from Madrona Venture Group, Zillow's Amy Bohutinsky, Rebecca Lovell from the city of Seattle and Rudy Gadre from Founders Co-op will weigh in from the stage on each company's pitch, asking questions and providing feedback.
The judges will then choose a winner of the TechFlash Cup. The winner will be featured in a profile in the print and digital version of the Puget Sound Business Journal.
Last year's winner, Apptentive (featured in the video above), recently raised a $5 million round of funding. Here's the profile I wrote of Apptentive co-founder Robi Ganguly and his startup, which makes a system for app developers to poll their users.
Another finalist in last year's TechFlash Cup, SNUPI Technologies, raised $7.5 million earlier this year.
You can see video pitches of each of the 10 companies participating in this year's TechFlash Cup – and even vote for your favorite – at TechFlashCup.com. The company with the most votes at 5 p.m. Oct. 31 will automatically advance to the live pitch. The judges will choose five others to join that company on stage.
Want to meet the startups and the judges? Register here and come to the event, which includes an hour-long networking session (with an open bar) and the live pitch.
Check out the slideshow for a brief glimpse of each of the this year's TechFlash Cup competitors.
