Why are you making this change?
The Denton Record Chronicle has long had a goal of providing a forum for informed debate and has been an outspoken critic of the growing lack of civility in political discourse. After months of research and deliberation, we have concluded that using Facebook Comments on our website will increase and improve the discussion of the content we provide.
Why limit comments to Facebook users only?
More than 65 percent of adult internet users participate in a social network, and 92 percent of all social media users are on Facebook. More than 2.5 million websites have integrated with Facebook, and hundreds of other news sites use Facebook’s commenting tool. This makes it easier for readers to leave comments across multiple news sites.

What if I don't have a Facebook account?
You cannot add a comment, but we encourage you to participate in the numerous other ways to offer your feedback on stories.
How can I report abuse?
On DentonRC.com, each comment has an "X" in the upper right corner. Click on that "X" to be given the option to "Mark as Spam" or "Report as Abuse." These reports will be sent directly to Facebook.
What if I can't sign in to Facebook from the computer I am using?
Some public or work computer networks may not allow access to Facebook or social tools on websites such as DentonRC.com. We respect the rights of network owners and workplaces to limit access to Facebook and encourage readers to find other ways to offer feedback or to add comments when they have access to their personal computers or mobile devices.
What if I don't want people on Facebook to see my dallasnews.com comments?
If you don't want your comment to appear on Facebook, uncheck the 'Post to Facebook' box prior to posting your comment(s). Be sure to confirm that the box reflects your preference for each comment you submit.
I am concerned about my privacy on Facebook. What can I do to limit what other commenters might see on my profile?
Social media privacy experts suggest reviewing your Facebook privacy settings as needed. In your Facebook account, click on the downward facing arrow in the top right corner of the page and a pull-down menu will appear.
