Carrboro boutique expanding with 'Shoetique'

Sofia's Boutique in Carrboro's Carr Mill Mall is expanding into space beside it to include shoes.

Sofia's Shoetique will open Nov. 6, and will feature brands that owner Christina Passanisi says are not easy to find in the area, and include brands such as Fly London, John Fluevog, Old Gringo, Neosens, Art, Dromedaris, Chie Mihara, Pikolinos, Bussola, Sheridan Mia and others.

Sofia's Boutique is a 10-year-old clothing retail store and has 1,400 square feet of retail space. The new shoe store will encompass 800 square feet beside it.

Passanisi is an artist and a potter, and says she has infused "visually inviting" details to make the space attractive.

"The Boutique has been a true labor of love, the Shoetique is an organic evolution of it," says Passanisi. "I'm so excited to showcase really beautiful shoes that help my customers express themselves. We've put a tremendous amount of energy into creating a visually inviting and interesting space to shop."
