U.S. 75 and Forest, as we speak.
God's reign of terror against the region continues Tuesday afternoon with an all-timer of a traffic jam on U.S. 75. The freeway is closed in both directions at Forest Lane because of downed power lines on 75 proper and the service road. According to reports, a utility pole caught fire, leading to the lines crashing vengefully onto the traffic below.

Traffic is stopped. It is advisable to avoid 75 anywhere north of downtown at all costs.

Here's the view at 75 and Park Lane:

In all seriousness, it seems like Central (and several other area expressways) are consumed by gridlock due to minor accidents several times each day.

When Michael Morris and the other wizards at the COG perform all of their mystical traffic analyses and projections, do they factor this sort of massive, consistent, highway dysfunction into their calculus?

First! and first to question if The COG has anything to do with this in order to push toll roads.

@WylieH  This is nowhere near dysfunction.  Outside of rush hour the expressways actually flow pretty well.  Try Austin, the traffic is a nightmare regardless of time or day.

Besides with the way THE COG thinks they would use gridlock as a rationalization for more roads.

Are you serious? why would Morris and his merry minions actually introduce reality into their projections, that would screw up their plans to put more freeways on the ground!

best to just ignore reality when you are painstakingly working to pave through every piece of land they can.

@wcvemail I've never understood the DNT.  Why would anyone pay however much to sit in traffic when they could sit in the same traffic for free on 35E or 75?

@wcvemail Not too terribly long ago there was a wreck on the Tollway that knocked a power line and pole over the roadway and caused all sorts of headaches.

Austin's lack of roads:

'The Texas A&M Transportation Institute has built sophisticated computer modeling of Austin's future traffic — and the findings are not good. The commute from downtown Austin to the northern suburb of Round Rock currently takes about 45 minutes during rush hour. But by 2035, the institute estimates, it will take two hours and 30 minutes to go those 19 miles. '

But wait, you can avoid all of that by adopting an unsustainable sustainable lifestyle:

'By last year, Tuerff was fed up with two hours on the road every day. Now he rents a high-rise apartment in a gleaming new building downtown.

"My office is about five minutes by car or 12 minutes by bicycle," he says. "And that's what I love about this place."

Tuerff is part of that 40 percent that Lomax needs to make his transportation models work. And there's a growing population of successful professionals paying $3,000 to $5,000 in rent every month for the privilege of walking and biking to work and play.'

This was obviously o GOG false flag operation to build more toll roads.

It's all fun and games if you can afford 3-5K in rent per month. I'm out.
