Blotter: Police arrest woman on evading arrest charge

A 33-year-old woman evaded police officers who responded to a disturbance report at an apartment building in the 2500 block of Charlotte Street at 7:50 a.m. Thursday, according to a police report.

The disturbance was reported by an apartment management representative who was checking on a power outage that occurred on the north end of the building.

The woman was later arrested and charged with evading detention and was wanted on three warrants out of Lake Dallas.

1500 block of South Loop 288 — Officers responding to a report of a theft in progress at a Denton store at 4:40 a.m. Thursday found that the suspect had a handgun and drug paraphernalia in his possession, according to a police report.

The 23-year-old man was placed under arrest and charged with theft, possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful carrying of a weapon on premises with alcohol, the report stated.

Denton County Sheriff’s Office dispatchers handled 834 service and officer-initiated calls for the agencies they serve. Forty-seven people were booked into Denton County Jail.

Denton police responded to 257 service and officer-initiated calls and posted 23 reports online.

Denton firefighters responded to 18 medical calls, one vehicle fire and two vehicle accidents.
