Denton police are on the lookout for a bank robbery suspect.

According to reports, police responded to a bank robbery Thursday in the 1700 block of South Loop 288 after a employee reported a man came in asking for a withdrawal before passing a note to her that read, “This is a robbery.”

Police said the employee had asked for the man’s ID when he handed her the folded paper note, which also demanded that she hand over large bills.

According to reports, she gathered several $100, $50 and $20 bills from her cash drawer, and the man reached over the counter to collect the money and the note.

The man reportedly moved his hands around his waist area, but the complainant did not see any type of weapon.

He fled the scene before police arrived, according to reports.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male with a dark complexion in his late 20s or early 30s, police said. He was wearing a green and white hat that concealed his hair color. He had brown eyes and was wearing a long-sleeve, dark-colored sweater, faded blue jeans and work boots, reports show.

Other reports

2000 block of West Windsor Drive — A man reportedly impersonated a police officer around noon Thursday at North Lakes Park, according to reports.

Police responded to a complaint made in the police station lobby, 601 E. Hickory St., after a 44-year-old woman reported she was approached by a man during her lunch break while she was at the park.

According to reports, the woman reported noticing a man who had arrived at the park in a white Dodge Charger or Challenger and had parked near the public restrooms.

The car was marked by three oval shapes, one on the rear and one on each front door, with the word “Police” written on the oval shapes, she told police.

A white male, about 6 feet, 3 inches tall, with a medium build and short, dark hair, clean shaven and wearing a dark blue shirt and dark blue pants, exited the car and began approaching people, according to the report.

According to police, the man approached the woman’s car and asked her for her driver’s license and insurance card.

She gave him her driver’s license and he appeared to be scanning it with a handheld device, reports state. When asked what he was doing, he said he was looking for someone, she reported.

The woman said that during their interaction, she could tell the man was trying to avoid placing himself in her front view.

His clothes did not have any identifying patches or other type of law enforcement identification, and he was not wearing a holster or weapon on his belt, she told police.
