Denton police are investigating a financial loss claim made by a bank in the 3300 block of Teasley Lane.
According to reports filed Wednesday, a bank employee reported on Sept. 11 that a bank customer, a woman in her 30s, had deposited numerous checks drawn on an account with another financial institution.
Police said the checks were subsequently returned for being drawn on a closed account.
The bank lost more than $2,000, police said.

700 block of Fort Worth Drive — Denton police took a 23-year-old woman into custody Wednesday on drug possession charges.
An officer stopped the woman Wednesday in a motel parking lot and reported finding pills and a small amount of marijuana on her.
She was charged with possession of marijuana under 2 ounces, possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 3 and possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 4 under 28 grams.
2400 block of Stella Street — Police responded to a kidnapping call Wednesday after a woman reported that her mother had taken her 7-month-old baby.
According to a police report, the woman did not have permission to take the baby and she would not return the child.
When officers arrived, the two women had been involved in a physical altercation, resulting in minor injuries to both.
The mother of the 7-month-old regained custody of her child and the report was forwarded to criminal investigations, police said.
