A couple’s dispute brought out Denton police officers late Monday night.

Officers were dispatched to an apartment in the 3200 block of Fallmeadow Street in reference to a domestic disturbance. The caller reported that her girlfriend had just hit her and was being unreasonable. Upon arrival to the location, the officer found the suspect walking a dog away from the victim’s apartment. The suspect said that nothing had happened and she was just going to leave when her sister picked her up.

The officer reported the suspect to be very intoxicated. The suspect also stated that she wanted her car keys from the victim but did not plan to drive. The officer found the victim, who said she and her girlfriend of two years had been drinking at a local bar.

Back at home later, while the victim was eating her food at the coffee table in the living room, the suspect threw everything from the table and called the victim names. The suspect then pushed the victim by the chest against the wall. The victim’s brother said he witnessed the incident, according to the report.

The suspect was arrested for public intoxication and assault by contact.
