An evening patrol led to an arrest for a suspected marijuana customer Thursday night, according to a police report.

The report said a Denton officer was patrolling the parking lot in the 3400 block of Joyce Lane because of complaints of narcotics sales.

The officer noticed a vehicle in the visitor parking near a building where a suspected marijuana dealer stays, according to the report. The vehicle had its lights on and there was only a woman sitting in the front passenger seat. The officer spoke to the woman, who said she was from Euless. She said her boyfriend, who lives in Ponder, just stopped by for a short time to see a friend. The woman denied knowing whether her boyfriend was there to buy marijuana.

The officer then noticed a man walk down from the building in which the suspected dealer stays, the police report said. After spotting the officer, the man quickly began to walk down the sidewalk in the opposite direction. When confronted, the man would not say whether or not he was the driver of the vehicle, nor would the woman say he was her boyfriend. According to the police report, the man, who was acting nervous at this time, turned out to be the driver of the vehicle. The officer then noticed a large bulge in his front right pants pocket and could see plastic Ziploc baggies sticking out of it. The man gave up the marijuana at the order of the officer, a total of 30 grams, and was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.
