Denton County Democrats will come together from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday for Donkey Fest, the party’s annual fall fundraiser, at the North Texas Fairgrounds at 2217 N. Carroll Blvd. in Denton.
Suggested donations for attendees will be $25 per adult and $5 for children.
Texas Democrat John Cook, candidate for Texas land commissioner, will be the featured speaker and is expected to take the mic at 6:30 p.m.
He faces Republican George P. Bush in the general election in November.
Denton County’s local Democratic candidates also will speak at the event.
They include: Patrick McGehearty for U.S. Congress in District 24; Daniel Moran, candidate for House District 63; Emy Lyons for House District 64; Alex Mendoza, candidate for House District 65; Lisa Osterholt in House District 106; and David Heiman, candidate for judge in the 367th District Court.
